I will put in the box
One of my glistening, golden soccer trophies,
My bright orange scooter, which I ride everyday,
Maybe a hairball from my spotty dog Pebbles or my loving cat Twiggy.
I will put in the box
A sparkly star from my Nana to guide me each day,
A star of soccer skills,
And a winning lotto ticket.
I will put in the box
Three country chants spoken in different in three different languages,
The last pump of a soccer ball to fill it up,
And a baby's first steps
I will put in the box
A last wrinkle from my Grandma
An evil superhero
And a candy cane on a lollipop stick, dripping a sweet sugary flavour
My box has a handle made of golden titanium,
With a Titan guarding it.
Its outside is coated with a thick layer of black paint
And to top the lot, there are flames with ice to make it an extra protective layer.
I shall play footy inside my box,
Sliding in the mud,
And ending up in a soccer world cup
With the whole world gearing at me.
Tena koe Miller. I can see you have enjoyed this structure for using language for effect. I love the line I will put in the box a last wrinkle from my Grandma. What inspired you to write that?
