WALT: choose language for effect.

A poem to be spoken silently.
It was so silent that I heard
the sun rise and whisper good morning to the world.
It was so soundless that I heard
the earth giggle as it was tickled by the soft rain.
It was so calm that I felt
a grin engrave the face of a familiar stranger.
It was so quiet that I heard
the flag greet the strangers greet the strangers on the street
with a brief hello.
It was so still that I felt
the earth revolve like a clothes dryer on tumble dry.
It was so noiseless that I heard
the pages of my book plead for me not to go
as I turned its cover...

  1. Lin where did this structure for writing by choosing language for effect come from? It is beautiful. Your use of metaphor and similie creates amazing images. Well done friend!!!
